Lap Swim vs. Open Swim

Members are invited to swim during designated times.
View our pool schedule and reserve lap swim times.

  • Open Swim: No reservation needed. Drop in and splash around with family and friends. Perfect for fun, relaxation, and casual swimming.

  • Lap Swim: Reservations required. For those looking to swim laps and get a focused workout, reservations are required to secure your spot and maintain a smooth swim experience.

Lap Swim Etiquette

There are ways to share a lane while lap swimming efficiently and safely. When entering a lane please announce yourself to the swimmers in the lane you are joining.

Lane Splitting (2 People)
  • One person swims on one side of the lane down and back. Second person swims on the other side of the lane down and back.

Circle Swimming (3-4 People)
  • Swimmers will swim in a counterclockwise direction.
  • Swimmers will follow in line based on their swim speed.
  • Passing: If the person behind you touches your toes while you are swimming, that is an indication that they intend to pass you. To pass, you can swim to the opposite side of the lane until you are safely in front of the other swimmer (Just like passing someone on the road while driving). Alternatively, stop at the wall and allow the person behind you to continue swimming, and then follow behind them.

Lifeguards are responsible for every swimmer’s safety. They will assist swimmers and address concerns about lane sharing. Please be considerate of your fellow swimmers while enjoying the pool and respect lifeguards and their instructions.
