August Volunteering Recap at Riverdale Y

From the Volunteer Director,

September still carries the warmth of summer, yet it also brings a cool freshness that signals new beginnings. It is the season of return: back to school, back to family traditions, back to the rhythm and energy that carry us into fall.

At the Riverdale Y, we step into this season together with acts of service and celebration. At the Sunday Market, we will exchange children’s clothes so families can begin the school year with confidence. We will write notes of encouragement and sweet seasonal greetings to older neighbors. We will deliver food to the Friendly Fridges and support our neighbors at AmPark NORC, ensuring dignity and nourishment for those who need it most. At the Older Adult Center, we will gather for a beautiful Rosh Hashanah Lunch, serving an amazing holiday meal to the older adults in our community.

We invite you to be part of this spirit of renewal. Join us in September by coming to the Sunday Market, volunteering your time, or making a donation to support these programs. Every act of participation strengthens our community and ensures that we step into the new season not only with hope, but with shared purpose.

Regards,

Alexandra Nyashina

Director of Volunteer Services
