Summer is here, bringing with it the heat of the sun, refreshing rain showers, and a whole lot of joy through our social impact programs. We started June on a high note by celebrating two outstanding volunteers, Ronnie and Adela, whose dedication has been truly inspiring. Alongside this, we’ve been actively recruiting new volunteers and interns for various summer roles at our community center. We are thrilled to welcome both new and returning volunteers, from the young to the more experienced, to join our vibrant community.
As we move into July and August, we invite you to participate in our intergenerational workshops. These sessions are designed to educate young adults about the challenges faced by older adults, teach them how to write and administer surveys, and support them as they develop innovative solutions and fundraise to bring these solutions to life. Our “Intergenerational Orientation” kicks off on July 1. During this session, we will outline the program’s goals and discuss the expected conduct for all community members.
Our food pantries, especially the AmPark NORC pantry, continue to need assistance with food distribution. This work is demanding and physically challenging, but it offers immense rewards. By volunteering, you will help over 300 people in need and find the experience profoundly fulfilling.
As summer progresses, we remain committed to making a positive impact in our community through dedication and collaboration. Our vibrant programs and workshops are designed to foster understanding, compassion, and innovation across generations. We invite everyone to get involved and make a difference, whether by joining our educational workshops, volunteering at our food pantries, or participating in our community events.
Let’s make this summer a season of growth, connection, and meaningful contribution. Together, we can achieve great things and create lasting memories. Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm.
