If you’ve spent any time around the Riverdale Y, chances are you’ve met Stephen Dunnion, known to many as Coach Bird. Since joining the Riverdale Y family in June 2015, coach Bird has brought his energy, dedication, and positivity to every program he’s touched. From starting as a counselor in our afterschool program and Camp Twelve Trails, to becoming a beloved coach in our community within our Camp, Afterschool Programs, and Early Childhood Center, Coach Bird has inspired countless young people to learn, grow, and have fun and has made a lasting impact on our community.
In addition to his work with our youth programs, Coach Bird has also played a key role in overseeing and coaching the Stanley Lane Basketball League, where his passion for teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development shines through. His commitment to helping every child grow, both on and off the court, makes him a true Y favorite and an incredible part of our team! His commitment to our community and his genuine care for every child he works with make him a true Riverdale Y favorite!
