Conversational Hebrew Class
Michael Ben-Chaim grew up in Haifa, Israel, and studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the University of Cambridge (UK). He has a PhD degree in history and philosophy of science and taught a wide variety of humanities and social science courses in Israel and the United States. He came to the United Sates in 2001 as a visiting scholar, resided in Massachusetts for many years and currently lives in Yonkers, NY.
Conversational Hebrew
As a participant in this class, you will learn and practice how to converse in basic Hebrew you can relate to and use when talking with native Hebrew speakers and other people with some Hebrew speaking skills. Class meetings will focus on everyday life situations in a natural way, enriching your vocabulary and improving your confidence when speaking Hebrew. Each unit builds on the next to enable you to grow your vocabulary as you progress. This class is taught in English and Hebrew, with audio and visual aids such as native Hebrew speakers’ recorded announcements and conversations, songs, and Jewish liturgy. We will also include references to the Hebrew alphabet and printed words to enhance understanding of the lexicon and grammar of the spoken language.
