The Riverdale Y 5k & Fun Run is an annual community event hosted by Riverdale Y. This year, the Riverdale Y will host a timed 5K run for individual runners, an untimed 1K family-friendly fun run/walk, and a post-race celebration with activities, games, and fun.
The event will start and end at Riverdale Y located at 5625 Arlington Ave on Sunday May 4, 2025, Check-in will open at 7:00am. Run and all associated festivities will begin at 8:45am.
The Riverdale Y 5K & Fun Run is an annual event to celebrate health and community. Proceeds from the Riverdale Y 5K & Fun Run will support the social impact programs and services provided by Riverdale Y, such as:
- Food Pantry
- Meals For Older Adults
- Older Adult Enrichment & Socialization
- Community Engagement & Service
- Intergenerational Programming
- Israel Programs
- Teen Service Learning & volunteering

There is no parking available at the event. We encourage you to take public transit or alternative modes of transportation.
There is no bag check available.
Hatzalah will be present as well as the NYPD.
The post race activities are a community centric event geared towards registered runners, their families, and guests that attend to support them. Registration is strongly encouraged in advance, as a guest of a runner to receive participation bracelets at no additional costs. Some activities and food may have minimal costs.
Race Details
No. The courses are not certified.
Registered children (ages 3-15) can participate in the 5K Run or the 1K Family Run/Walk but must be accompanied by a registered adult (18 & over). Children 2 & under are free.
You may walk the race provided you complete the course in 60 minutes.
No. There will be no porta potties. You are permitted to use the restrooms in the Riverdale Y facility.
Yes. We will have water stations at the start/finish and approximately half way through the course.
The 5K Run will be a timed race and will be posted online by EliteFeats timing company.
The 1K Fun Run/Walk will not be timed.

Advance registration will include your name on your bib.
1K Fun Run/Walk
$18 Early Bird until 4/11 – includes 2 wristbands for guests of runners to support and attend

You can walk with a stroller in the 1K Fun Run/Walk. We do not permit strollers in the 5K Run.
There are no refunds on registration fees or donations for Riverdale Y 5k & Fun Run. This event is rain or shine.
Bib and Runner Packets can be picked up at the Riverdale Y the week of April 28 – May 2. Times TBA.
We strongly encourage you to pick up your bib and runner packet in advance. All early pick ups will include complimentary tickets for the Raffle Prizes on the day of the event.
If you are picking up for a friend, please have a copy of their confirmation email at packet pick up.
You must know your bib number to pick up your bib. If you do not know your bib number there will be a Self Lookup area.
If you register more than 24 hours in advance, your bib number will be texted or emailed to you at least 2 hours before bib pickup.
If you register within 24 hours of bib pickup please bring your confirmation email, either on your phone or printed, to be assigned a bib.
