Dear Volunteers,
I am deeply grateful for the way you responded when we needed you most.
At approximately 10:45 on Wednesday, June 25, we learned that we would need to shut down the building due to a water outage. By 11:00, you were already in motion. Some of you began taking down the lunch setup you had just completed. Others quickly packed up the meals we had prepared, so they could be brought home by those in need. Still others ensured that every member left the building safely and with dignity.
You came to help at the pantry, despite the heat wave. When I shared that we would need to cancel, you met the moment with patience and grace. There was no frustration, only support. That is rare, and it is powerful.
You are the heart and hands of this community. I thank you—again and again. I look forward to seeing you next time.
